As odd as you might find it to believe. Pro Skater, Tony Hawk has given his blood so that it can be used to decorate some limited-edition skateboards. The 53-year-old skater who is two years younger than Stephen Curry’s mother has made headlines in the strangest ways recently. Skateboards painted with Tony Hawk’s blood?
This is not the only time that everybody’s favorite skateboarder (sorry Momiji Nishiya) has unexpectedly trended recently. And frankly speaking, I’m personally loving his return to the spotlight.
Back in June, Tony did a TikTok video with Avril Lavigne. Needless to say, fans were blown away by the duo, and most were immediately teleported back to a simpler time. And the fact that it was Avril’s first TikTok video ever, made it all the more special. After that explosive entry, Avril captured more than 2 million followers. And over 33 million views.
But we are here to talk about skateboards painted with Tony Hawk’s blood.
The “bloody skateboards” are being made by Tony, in collaboration with a canned water company known as Liquid Death. TMZ Sports broke the news by reporting that each board is selling for $500. And if the starts are true only 100 boards are rumored to be available. In short, these are some very rare boards.
Even though Tony Hawk poured his blood into this venture, he won’t be keeping a percentage of his earnings. And The Skatepark Project is one of his two chosen benefactors. With the other one being a nonprofit, environmental organisation called 5 Gyres. Which is a perfect fit, since his partner: Liquid Death. Happens to be a huge “plastic pollution fighter”. Good luck getting one of these bad boys!
