For several days now, I have had one of those sinuses that leave you feeling a toothache-like pain. Not all people get those kinda sinuses, but I’m one of the lucky few… I guess. But it will all pass. Should I go to the dentist?
Now imagine my surprise when our beloved, American rapper – Cardi B, tweeted the question: When is the best time to go to a dentist? Needless to say, her Twitter followers had a lot of non-medical replies to throw at her. None of these should be taken as sound medical advice. You should visit your dentist if you are having any issues with your teeth.
Before we dig into the replies that Cardi B got, I was caught off guard to hear one fan saying, she doesn’t like going to the dentist because – “..they will see that I sucked a %#@! because they will see my purple throat.” I had no words to add, or questions to ask after reading that.
How people feel about dentists
After Cardi B asked the question. Somebody commented, “Best time to go is during the winter/ fall months, that’s when people barely go and the prices are lower.” This was quickly met with a reply stating, “The dentist’s fees don’t change. It’s not a car dealership.”
Before a war could break out between those two Cardi B fans, someone stepped in with the following contribution, “The dentist/doctors do not change their prices certain times of the year. Your insurance changes the amount you are responsible for paying. It’s usually more when you first renew your policy, less towards the end of your policy & sometimes nothing if you reach your deductible.”
Now back to the question at hand. After reading the tweet that Cardi B posted another fan replied bizarrely, “[You should visit the dentist] when you need someone to touch that lil’ dangly thing that’s swing[ing] in the back of your throat.”
Some fans seem to have some inside info that we don’t know about. One of them said, “Coming from someone who works front desk at dental office definitely do first appt ! The earlier the better.” Hmm… I wonder why? Do I even wanna know?
Should I go to the dentist?
A lot of fans had a lot to say. Even in this pandemic, others have insisted on keeping your regular dental appointments. One lady said, “[Go] every six months Sis… Keep your teeth perfect and breath smelling good. Floss in between visits.” Some have been forced to go. Our last fan of the day tweeted, “[Go] when half your face swollen and it feels like someone is jabbing a flathead into your jaw bone got my wisdom pulled last summer, in the pandemic.”
As stated in the beginning. None of this should be taken as professional medical advice. I hope you are taking care of your health and mind, during this insane pandemic.
