The stunning 44-year-old, mother of three, Australian celebrity: Isla Fisher was spotted recently in Los Angeles, California. She was looking like the rest of us, mere mortals. Busy running errands on September 21st in this COVID year.
A year that has flown by, so quickly! And so slowly (at the same time) and you know what I mean. Right!? In two months, we will be in the festive season already. Which brings us back to the usually gorgeous (when it’s not a COVID year) Isla. In an Instagram post before COVID, the Australian celebrity Isla Fisher left some of us salivating over the upcoming movie that she starred in. A movie (like many others) that got pushed back by several months now. Due to COVID, it missed its May 1st UK Premier.
This brings us to our topic today
Due to COVID, it won’t surprise you to learn that Blithe Spirit was moved from the 1st of May. To 4 September 2020 because of the pandemic. After another shift, the new new-date now is 25 December 2020. Christmas Day! Yes, was it a wise move to bring out this iconic movie… On Christmas day? A day usually reserved for movies about kids that lost their puppy or something white and snowy. I called the movie iconic because it was originally made in 1945, and has been adopted for theatre multiple times since.
The pros and cons
One good thing is, the producers seem hell-bent on letting us see this movie this year. The year it was intended to come out, and I’m all for that! That’s the upside, on the downside: is the date right? Will people be able to go out and see it? Your guess is as good as mine.
But one would think that if people are finally able to go out by that time. Would they not want to spend Christmas on a table or in a park? With family and loved ones whom they have been separated from by COVID regulations. As breathtakingly gorgeous as she is, who wants to spend Christmas with Isla Fisher? After the year we’ve had maybe the producers should pick a day with lesser significance. What do you think?
